A blend consisting of beeswax, carnauba wax, orange oil and tung oil can be applied to drum shells, offering a natural look with no sheen or reflection.  The wax and oil is an alternative to a hardening clear coat, and although this finish protects from moisture and mold, it offers the least amount of protection from the elements. Wood Dyes cannot be used with this finish; the wax and oil blend is applied to raw natural colored woods.
